 A beautifully designed gaming world that still makes me go wow. November 14, 2008
Vice city is possibly my favourite game of all time and it's still my favourite gta for its time, but I would say as a all this is still the best gta for size, variety and replay value and although this was released in 2004, I still play this even though I have an xbox 360.
I bought this ps2 version on release, but its the xbox version I still play now. This really is in my opinion a masterpiece, everytime I play this game I still occasionally think wow because of the size and variety of this beautifully, absolutely beautifully designed fictional county, with three cities obviously Los Angeles(Los Santos), San Francisco(San Fierro) and Las Vegas(Las Venturas). All these cities look completely unique from each other, but you also get loads and loads of beautifully designed country and desert with little towns. Some game fans weren't happy with the country and desert because there isn't much to do, but to me it makes it feel realistic and haunting. Go in an isolated part of the desert at night and make a fire or go in the country and watch the sunrise, beautiful. Everytime I see a movie or tv series filmed in various parts of the US (obviously california the main one), I nearly always think of this particular game (I can't be the only one), that really says to me how well I think this gta world is designed.
It does annoy me when people say this is vice city in another city. This gave you so much more to do other than follow the main story, so much more. Gambling in various ways, mountain bike racing, skydiving and swimming. But it wasn't just the things to do that improved from vice city, but also the AI. For example in this when you heard a cop car for the first time and they weren't after you (in vice city if you heard them they were after you), but some bikers on a harley with one on the back shooting at them, absolutely brilliant, it made the place feel like it wasn't just about you. Then there is the so simple but hilarious way you can interact with various pedestrians and not know what they say or how they react (I still occasianally hear new dialogue from the pedestrians after all these years). Another thing is you have always got something to spend your cash on, you can never make too much. I have about 90 million dollars (I made most of it by betting on the horse with the longest odds). Plenty of clothes and hairstyles, even weight to choose from, great radio and voice acting again from major actors including James Woods, the late Chris Penn RIP, Samuel L Jackson, and many more.
There are so many more reasons why I think this is a masterpiece, but I think I have said enough. I don't need to go into the story because if you're reading this then you probably own this classic. I just had to comment on it.

This game is just superb. i could finish the review right there and hope that people would just go out and experience all the small things that make the game wonderful for themselves. when i first bought this game i knew i was in for a treat as rockstars GTA series hardly ever puts a foot wrong. the fact you can customise your character by buying different clothes, trying out different haircuts, eating and working out just shows a very small bit of the variety of this game.
There are many a missions for you to have a go at and the difficulty is just about right. i finished the game a little while ago and can still go back and play it for hours. one of the best improvements since vice city is the much bigger variety of bikes, cars, planes and boats. the car modifications are also great and different mod shops allow you to add different things yo your car.
It's been argued that the long country roads are pretty pointless and just boring, but it's the only kind of place where you can really test out the nos you just put in your beast of a car, or even see how far up the mountains your great dirt bike will take you.
so if you wanna find out how fun it is to drive sports cars, trucks, go karts, qaud bikes, superbikes, chopper bikes, dirtbikes, airplanes and boats i seriously reccomend this game.
buy this game, it'll bring out the 90s gangster in you that you never knew was there!

A huge living world brought to life with imagination and some
brilliant and hilarious characters.
James woods and Samuel l jackson are inspired in fact i would say
some of their acting is better than in any of their movies.
Get CJ a haircut take your girlfriend on a date,learn to fly,play pool
plus numerous story and side missions to be taken care of.
Graphics are not that bad with nice weather effects, well detailed cities
and some nice street lighting.
The game is probably more polished on the xbox.
Their is a lot of swearing hence the certificate but it is essential
to the feel of the game.
The actors all involved in this game do an excellent job and is highly
recommended to any xbox owners.

here I bought this game and heard about all the terrible stuff u can do it is rubbish. U cannot rape people i cant stress how many times I have heard this in the papers. Also the drug refrences are only very slight. Also this about the prostitutes is crap u can only do these tasks by choice and the majority it is only talkin to them nothing happens.
Overall this game is brillant and nothing is bad only bad language and violens which every 16+ game has

Hi, when I bought this game for Xbox, I already knew it was going to be a great buy. As soon as I received it, I opened it and could not stop playing, it is such a good game. I would advise anybody thinking of buying it, to buy it now!!!
