Foot pitch January 8, 2008 8 out of 16 found this review helpful
The foot pitch is for the brakes (Called toe brakes) this is how ALL plane brakes are operated including the space shuttle
A good product (albeit not cheap) - essential for good turns December 7, 2007 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
To play any flight sim well, you need good control methods. While the rudder is often overlooked as an essential flight control, it is vital for coordinated controls to achieve good turns and also for spin correction.
These rudder pedals are well constructed, heaver than expected and came in a very large box.
In use, it is more or less plug and play and the single CD of drivers allows you to load the driver software. Optionally it is possible to load the tools to create custom controls in other applications. The built-in USB cable isn't that long, but this can be extended via third party cables if required. Feedback is positive and the level of force required to turn can be easily adjusted. Each foot pedal has a "pitch forward" capability, presumably for motor-vehicle gaming. It was not possible to find a way to lock-off this pitch movement.
The only minor niggle is the small amount of play in the centre position. At its most sensitive level, this will turn a simulated glider or similar high performance aircraft. However this is minor and may not be important in casual use.
The customised control software has not been used so is not reviewed here.
A good product (albeit not cheap), so overall a four out of five only because it was not possible to lock-off the "foot pitch" movement.
