It has lasted me six years - very reliable January 3, 2009 Six years ago when Flight Simulator two came out, I bought it and after a few weeks of playing with a keyboard, I figured that the effect and physics of playing with a keyboard was absolutely horrific - it didn't feel like flying at all, so I figured I needed a joystick.
This joystick doesn't have too much features but what do you expect, it costs just under 10, and I have to say that that is very good value for money. This joystick has the basic features: throttle control, three buttons to change the view and a yoke to change the view or on a war game, aim the weapon. The features: As I said, this joystick includes throttle control, three buttons to change the view, a yoke to change the view or on a war game, or aim the weapon, and of corse the control stick. The throttle is basically a silder which controls how much throttle you are using. If you push up then more throttle is used and vice versa. The three buttons do what it says on the tin: you press them and they change the views and the yoke changes what direction you are looking at on Flight Simulator and on a war game, aims the weapon you have selected to be fired. The actuall control stick has a very good and comfortable grip. Also, you can manually change how sensitive you want the steering to be. It is a shame that you can't actually twist the joystick as this option enables you to steer the rudder on your plane. This is quite a big set back but you have got to remeber that this joystick only costs 10.
The setup is very easy: the only thing you have to do is configure the joystick. This basically means, you make it work or in a more understandable way of explaining, you basically teach the joystick which direction is which and so on. Overall, this is a very reliable joystick as it has lasted me six years and it is still in perfect working order. It is also very cheap and simple however it still gets the job donwe. I would recommend it to a beginner of a flying game as it is a very good joystick to begin with. Happy flying! :)

i bought this joystick over a week ago as i needed one for fsx! it works well with fsx althogh the buttons are only for different views. the throttle is fairly responsive and the joystick is fairly smooth. this joystick is great for the money although now i am looking to buy a saitek cyborg. if you are serious and wont to play a fsx game dont waste 10 and get a better one!!!!!!!
"Cheap and chearful..." August 19, 2008 Is this a super mega flight stick with a zillion options and roller coaster pneumatic drill feedback? No.
Is this a "value" joystick with a least a few potentially programmable functions, including a throttle option? Yes.
For under 10 this stick is very good value. My one works, and some weeks later is still working; as it should. I bought it to play a bargain X2: The Threat I picked up recently. Works fine.
Now if I could just figure out a way to play Privateer 2 on WinXP with this sort of stick, I'd be a happy bunnie!
Cheap. Chearful. Good Buy July 14, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Good all round
Good with Flight Simulator however you can feel the quality against price.
A very very good Joystick for the price!
