Does not work with 100Hz January 5, 2008 This gun does NOT work with 100Hz TVs. As it is claimed to work on 100Hz TVs I bought one to use on my 100Hz Sony WEGA. I sent it back to the manufacturer saying it didn't work and they sent me another one, which was exactly the same. Design fault with the gun and false advertising this as 100Hz compatible.
If it doesn't work as 100Hz there is no point to this gun. The G-Con is plenty good enough on it's own.
Avoid this gun at all costs.
Scorpion 3 Light Gun June 6, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I used this on Time Crisis 3 with a 100hz Panasonic tv and it was useless. It worked most of the time but the laser kept reflecting off the screen into my eyes, not good! The shooting didn't always take place consequently I ran out of time while I was mucking about trying to get the gun to work. I have not tried it on a 50hz tv yet as I bought it to go with the 100 hz telly. I could not turn the laser off and it seemed to move position so it was not reliable. At this stage I would not buy one again until I see lots more favourable 100Hz reviews.
STICK WITH GUNCON2 October 11, 2005 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Functionally, it is useless. The very first time I used this gun the trigger locked up and would only fire four or five shots (you have generally 8-10 shots in a clip in most games) before I had to flick the trigger back out of its stuck position, midgame. This would happen early in the game as well, not even fifteen minutes in. Then after about five or six hours of play usage, the reload button started locking up. So now not only can I only shoot five shots per go, but I can't get out of the crouching position. I bought this from a different website and thought it would be the ultimate solution, because I had formed a Time Crisis habit the previous month at a local arcade and needed a fix. So I wanted this gun so I could play Guncon 1 and 2 compatible games but not have to buy those guns themselves. Suffice it to say, this gun is garbage. I payed about $30 USD for this including shipping on the site I got it from and expected it to be the ultimate gun. First off, its about the size of my middle finger, which makes it not only difficult to use, but makes you feel a lot less masculine when you're playing a testosterone pumping shoot-'em-up game like Time Crisis. I'm trying to feel like a VSSE B.A. (as Dane Cook would put it) and I've got this tiny little gun. My best advice, stick with the OG (original gangster) Original Guncon2 from Namco. Its the most reliable and most manly gun, and it is licensed by Playstation and Namco.
Endgame, 100Hz and other compatability issues August 18, 2004 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
With a Phlips 100Hz TV, you MUST set up the scan mode correctly. Avoid Natural Motion and other settings and set 100Hz mode ONLY. The gun MUST be set to GCON2 (small slide switch in front of trigger guard).Endgame does NOT work with my Philips TV. OTOH, Starsky & Hutch works absolutely fine. I conclude the coding in Endgame too simple to cope with the higher scan rates.
Trigger problem June 30, 2004 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
Somebody said that Scorpion3 does not work with Endgame. Well I have no problem using it with Endgame nor with any other light gun game (including Time Crisis 2 & 3, Vampire Night, Gunfighter II, Ninja Assault, ...). If it would not be for the trigger that after about one month of few hours per day playtime became unresponsive, I would not have anything to object. And I'm not only one complaining about trigger problem. Only for that reason my next gun will not be Scorpion. Original GunCom2 from Namco is still one of the best.
