Not bad at all January 3, 2009 With the yearly churn of Video games it sometimes feel like successive titles are 'put out there' rather than actually developed as a break through in both enjoyment and playability.
This one is very enjoyable but not quite the break through that it could have been.
The central story threads are very compelling and completing them often lead to sleepless nights. The Chris Jericho storyline probably was the best one featured in the game and could have been an excellent story used in WWE.
The mix of matches is good, though the ECW match does feel like a bit of a step backwards as you can no longer fight in the crowd. Sometimes reducing the options in this way detracts from the gameplay.
The tag team element is interesting though perhaps it is not quite the finished item yet.
Having said that it is certainly, for me, an improvement on 2008 and retains it's playability weeks on.
Lies Lies and Deception November 13, 2008 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
It pains me to give a Raw vs Smackdown game a bad review but I have to because I was lied to.
All the reviews, previews and adverts tell you is it's all about the tag teams, tag tag tag that's all you hear, so I thought, fantastic a tag story mode.
Yeh there's a tag story mode, for Batista and Rey...... that's it.
If you don't want to go Rey and Batista, tough luck, they are the only ones you can go for co-op story mode.
Basically the same as the other games with a few small changes I'd have waited until the price dropped before buying it if I knew all this tag hype was a load of rubbish
best SvR to date November 9, 2008 7 out of 10 found this review helpful
Having played this game for two days straight, i can say that this is the best svr game to date, if not the best wrestling game out there. And with new additions such as create a finisher, improved tag team matches and road to wrestlemania mode, it really freshens up the game. What else can i say, this game is a lot of fun and definatly kicks 'impact!' video game back to orlando studios.
I Can't Wait November 6, 2008 0 out of 12 found this review helpful
I can't wait for this game i've been watching a countdown on youtube and the gameplay looks a lot better this year. Create-a-Finisher is cool i'm sure that, that will be a amazing. I also read on wikipedia that the gaunlet match is in this year Inferno Match is in aswell.
Overall I think this game is going to be amazing
Layeth the smacketh down on your 360 October 13, 2008 4 out of 20 found this review helpful
Alot of people come on here and say how much better the game is to last years.Well this year that would be true.Last years game had a lousy roster and the season wasnt all that great.I have had a go of a demo and the game feels better then ever obviusly its never going to be as realistic as the real thing but it comes pretty close to it.This year features better season and wont have storylines where the Undertaker whats torrie Wilson to be his manager as i have seen in recent games.
